An efficient stacking method was applied to a multi-foil activation characterization of a core face fixture in Penn State's TRIGA reactor using STAYSL PNNL software. The adjusted neutron energy spectra from the STAYSL PNNL software are in good agreement with the input MCNP models. The validated MCNP model was then used to predict the neutron energy spectrum within the core face fixture with a new lead shielding assembly in between the fixture and the core. Additional irradiation environment details such as the estimated gamma ray dose rates and sample temperatures provide a more comprehensive view of the core face fixture beyond the neutron energy spectrum, especially for more sensitive materials.
