摘要
With the evolution of football, several factors continued to be analyzed for better technical- tactical use of the teams. The scout, for example, gained great importance for contributing to decision-making and adjustments during games. In view of this, the objective of the present study to compare the percentage indicators of Ball Possession (PB) and Total Shots (CH) in the 64 matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, in order to understand whether who shot the most and who had the most possession of the ball in the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches obtained, more positive, negative or draw results. The evolutions that occur in football are usually noticed during major international events, such as the World Cup, thus, it becomes relevant to analyze the data of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, an event that brings together the greatest arrivals in the world, Analyzing the results of the matches, it was observed that the teams with the highest number of CH had better results, while the teams with the highest PB had a greater number of unfavorable results. It is concluded that the winning teams dominated the indicators referring to kicks, and the teams with greater possession had, in short, negative results, not knowing how to take advantage of this advantage, having a reactive possession of the ball, which may be the explanatory factors for the result of the matches.
