摘要
The under-representation of women in information and communication technology (ICT) is a persistent issue that has recently received much attention from academia, policymakers, and the public. The variety of societal and formative experiences excluding girls and women from science and technology fields is increasingly recognized as a barrier not only to women but to society. Today's challenges also offer opportunities to stimulate innovative solutions and improve educational approaches to be more gender-sensitive and proactively inclusive. Despite progress in promoting gender equality, data reveal imbalances, especially in the ICT sector. This study examines gender disparities in the European and Bosnian ICT sectors, highlighting recent initiatives promoting gender equality. Using the International University of Sarajevo as an example, the study focuses on its approaches to achieving gender equality and contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
