摘要
It seems that all societies share a common view that management careers are better suited for men rather than for women. Women managers are most often found lower in organizational hierarchy, with substantially less access to power than men. "Glass ceiling", as a global phenomenon has been found in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well but no systematic research on this subject has been undertaken so far. This study attempts to provide empirical evidence of the glass ceiling in this country and to investigate some of the possible reasons for its existence. Gender equality in business is not considered a highly relevant issue in Bosnia and Herzegovina as no interest is shown by media, academic circles or business people. This fact may partly explain the existence of glass ceiling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, much more research is needed to shed light on this problem from other perspectives that could not be considered in this study.
