Design Consideration of a Permanent Magnet Assist Synchronous Reluctance Motor used in Oil-submersible Electric Pump System

摘要
Ferrite has the advantages of low price and positive temperature coefficient of coercivity. Therefore, ferrite based submersible permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor (SPMA-SynRM) can be an optional topology for oil-submersible electric pump. This paper analyzed the requirements in submersible motor and the suitability of PMA-SynRM, and designed a SPMA-SynRM based on the finite element method (FEM). The single-layer winding and parallel slots are adopted in stator to improve the empirical slot fill factor, and the triple-layer U-type flux barriers with ferrite are adopted in rotor to improve the saliency ratio and torque. Furthermore, this paper compared its cost and performance with PMSM. Finally, the maximum rotor stress, the anti-demagnetization performance of the ferrite and the steady-state temperature rise of the motor were also calculated in this paper.
