摘要
This study evaluates the links between the ongoing energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean and the Sustainable Development Goals ( sdG s) related to innovation ( sdG 9 ), equality ( sdG 10 ), and institutions ( sdG 16 ). The study argues that if energy technology choices in the region continue to be driven by techno-economic rationality, many demands imposed on the energy transition will remain unmet, meaning that pre-existing challenges ( sdG s 9 , 10 , and 16 ) are not ad dressed. Therefore, for the energy transition to be equitable and climate-compatible, it is necessary to conceptualize and implement new ways to integrate and act on inter and transdisciplinary knowledge in practice. This implies creating an interface between local communities (indigenous knowledge and community), research community (local and international climate-energy knowledge), and policymakers (policy knowledge).
