摘要
For the first time, KAlSiO4:RE (RE = Eu3+, Tb3+) phosphor was produced by a simple combustion synthesis method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies confirm that the pure KAlSiO4 matrix meets the standard JCPDS database 00-002-0584. Photoluminescence (Pl) properties were observed for rare earth Eu3+ and Tb3+ at varying concentrations (x = 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 1.3 mol %) where concentration quenching phenomenon observed and at 1.0 mol% out most optimistic peak observed. Luminescence property excitation and emission spectra shows convincing peaks and intensity for the given sample. KAlSiO4:Eu3+ matrix shows clear emission peak at 593 nm and 615 nm in red region when excited at different excitation wavelength while the excitation spectra of KAlSiO4:Eu3+ at 615 nm emission give proper peak position at 262 nm, 395 nm, and 465 nm corresponding to O2+ -> Eu3+, F-7(0) -> L-5(6), F-7(0) -> D-5(2). While sharp emissions peaked at 593 nm and 615 nm are obtained by F-7(0) -> D-5(1) and F-7(0) -> D-5(2) transitions. On the other hand, KAlSiO4: Tb3+ shows peaks at 352 nm, 370 nm and 378 nm, giving a sharp green emission peak at 545 nm due to the D-5(4) -> F-5(5) transition. Particle size and composition were determined using SEM analysis, with sizes in the micron range. The band gap and refractive index were determined using UV visible spectroscopy. CIE chromaticity diagram obtained as well as coordinate, color purity calculated using the Osram Sylvania software for red color emitting material KAlSiO4:Eu3+ phosphor and the green emission of KAlSiO4:Tb3+ phosphor. Photoluminescence (PI) spectroscopy shows exciting luminescent properties of KAlSiO4:RE (RE = Eu3+, Tb3+) phosphor. This could be a potential candidate phosphor for producing more light-emitting devices.
