摘要
This study examines the complex gender dynamics and female empowerment among Siddhi communities in Gujarat, India. Gender roles in the largely African-descended Siddhi group in India are shaped by a history and culture that set them apart from the rest of India. It attempts to offer insight on how Siddhi women's empowerment is influenced by sociocultural, economic and political variables as well as the difficulties they encounter in their quest for gender equality. In order to offer a complete comprehension of the issue, the study uses a mixed-methods approach. The results show that while the Siddhi community has made tremendous progress towards empowerment, they still face a number of structural obstacles that are related to their socio-economic status; these are the things discussed in the introduction part under the interview background and historical legacies. The study encompasses a range of dimensions pertaining to the Siddhi tribes in Gujarat, encompassing their historical background, cultural practices, socio-economic conditions and gender-related concerns. The article concludes with certain actions and policies that can be formulated and implemented to help Siddhi women gain empowerment in Gujarat.
