摘要
In Mexico City's Historic Center, due to the application of renovation programs, the area with the highest crime rate in the city paradoxically converges with the most surveilled area and with the greatest resources in security. This article seeks the factors associated with the perception of the organized crime presence in the population living in the area by using a survey and the adjustment of a regression model. The results show that the perception is given by the presence of illegal markets, the intensity of violence, the corruption of public officials, and the presence of groups with operational capacity, as well as for the high levels of poverty. The results are discussed based on the accumulated evidence.
