摘要
Internet of Things (IoT) is a modern technology that has significantly improved efficiency and deployment of medical devices in healthcare sector. Various approaches have been presented in the literature for integrating IoT with medical devices to solve various healthcare problems and overcome the potential challenges in conventional approaches, such as enhancing device's operational efficiency, reducing implementational costs, and improving both access and patient's safety. This paper highlights different implementation approaches based on both business and technical goals which are considered very important steps and strategy analysis in developing IoT medical devices. These goals enable the developers during planning phase to select the appropriate standards. This is because there are many different industry standards that can be adopted for integrating IoT with medical devices as discussed in this paper, e.g., communication standards for connectivity, artificial intelligence algorithms for data analysis, and cloud computing have various implementation requirements. Finally, the networking technical goals of IoT are discussed for specifying the reliability and efficiency of the developed IoT approach.
