摘要
The study of motor development in children, in the educational and health fields, is of great importance, due to its close relationship with their academic performance, their socialization and general well-being. The work presented is based on a comprehensive approach methodology that is based on a detailed review of the scientific literature, in specialized databases such as PubMed and PsycINFO. Strict inclusion and exclusion criteria of the works were applied to guarantee the quality and relevance of the selected studies and those that did not meet predetermined standards were excluded, all this together with the analysis of empirical studies and contributions from peer reviewers. Research on children's motor development is valued, highlighting key milestones in understanding how children acquire fundamental motor skills, as well as studies that have revealed the connection between motor development and other areas of child development, such as cognitive and socio-emotional. It emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary approaches that integrate Psychology and Physiology in education, as well as the formulation of educational policies and intervention programs that promote healthy and balanced development in childhood.
