摘要
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is associated with a significant risk of liver damage, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. T2D often develops on the basis of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and is therefore often present together with other MetS symptoms, such as high blood pressure, obesity, low HDL, hypertriglyceridemia and albuminuria. It is not certain whether this results in an additive risk of liver damage.
