摘要
Orthostatic hypotension is common in patients with chronic hypertension and can lead to adverse patient outcomes and increased mortality. Blood pressure lowering reduces cardiovascular mortality in patients with hypertension with comorbid orthostatic hypotension. Lifestyle modifications are first-line therapy, but modification of the antihypertensive regimen and addition of medications to increase blood pressure should be considered based on the severity and cause of orthostasis. Frequent monitoring and patient education are required to improve outcomes while reducing potential risks. (c) 2024 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Inc.
