摘要
Mega-projects are characterized by their enormous budgets, extensive timelines, and their potential to transform entire regions. As such, the discipline of mega-projects seeks to address the unique challenges and complexities that arise when managing such vast and impactful endeavors. Examining the world of sports events as mega-projects is not only intriguing but also highly relevant for understanding and advancing the broader discipline of managing mega-projects. Our study is a preliminary bibliometric literature review on sport mega-projects. First results show how many studies are focused on environmental dimensions and that social and power issues are still neglected. Notwithstanding, we strongly believe in an holistic approach and integrated development of future studies to support the 'cross-fertilisation' perspective.
