Glotopolitics, Gestell and monotechnology in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

This is a work of multidisciplinary reflection. It is inspired by the final report of research project 1037 financed by the University of Quindio, Colombia. Based on the review of the results found in that research, the article has three objectives: to describe empirically why the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is Ge-stell; then, based on the data from this project, to explain in a reflexive way, what constitutes it as a monotechnology in the field of didactics of foreign languages (LE); and to conclude why the Ereignis of LE students, at least in this educational context, is hidden under the weight of Ge-stell, without major possibilities of getting out of this area of the entity. The article aims to propose philosophical concerns in the field of didactology in the face of the consequences that the knowledge economy is generating through the CEFR in the teaching and learning of foreign languages, especially in the Latin American context.
