摘要
The Pulsed Laser Induced Fragmentation (PLIF) technique allows production of nanoparticle colloids by simply exposing water-suspended microcrystals of organic compounds to laser pulses without any additives or organic solvents. This technical feature has a high affinity with drug production. However, surfactants or stabilizers, a cause of allergic reactions, are needed to improve the dispersion stability under physiological conditions for use in nanomedicine. In this work, we used proteins as safe stabilizers for nanoparticles produced by PLIF. The stability of the prepared nanoparticles was investigated in terms of size change over time under physiological conditions using ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering analysis. The results showed that when the nanoparticles were prepared in bovine serum albumin solution, the mean size of the nanoparticles did not change with the addition of phosphate buffered saline. Therefore, it is concluded that proteins are good candidates as stabilizers for nanomedicines prepared by PLIF.
