Management and evaluation of teaching performance in the probationary internship: a study on the federal institutes of education, science and technology of Brazil

摘要
The present paper aims to analyze the process of management and evaluation of teaching performance during the probationary internship at the Institutos Federais de Educacao, Ciencia e Tecnologia [IF], based on the documents that guide these processes. The specific goals include debating the context of the probationary period; to point out the specificities of this evaluation of the performance of new teachers in the 38 Institutos Federais spread across the country, and present a new evaluation form. To this end, descriptive documental research was adopted with a qualitative approach. As for the results obtained, it observed that 63% of the IF have a standardizing document for the evaluation process in the probationary stage. Among the Institutes that have regulations, 58% are dated before 2012 and among the 42% of IF that have regulations after, only 4 are updated. In addition, it found that only 32% of the Institutos Federais have a teacher evaluation performed by the students. As for the forms used by these institutions, 87% use closed forms, 10% mixed and only 3% opened.
