摘要
The evaluation of current procrastination instruments is urgently needed, with particular attention to the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA), widely used in Latin America. The dimensionality of the EPA has experienced constant variations in the literature. To achieve this purpose, the EPA was applied to 1308 university students using non-probabilistic sampling. Initially, it was observed that item 4 reflected a daily activity rather than direct procrastination behaviors. Subsequently, the study explored several variations of the EPA in accordance with the literature and the proposals of the present study. The two-factor model, which excluded item 4 and had error correlation between items 6 and 7, was found to be adequate in terms of fit and achieved invariance between male and female participants. The study concludes that caution should be exercised when using the EPA due to the structural variability in the literature and the limited internal consistency in the procrastination dimension.
