In search of competitive advantage: Building dynamic capabilities

For decades, scientists have been trying to find an answer to the question ,,How can a company achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in a rapidly changing environment?". The answer seems to be increasingly difficult as companies' resources become more and more harmonized and the same market niches are often addressed with similar products. It is therefore assumed that there must be an overarching type of organizational capability that allows a company to adapt quickly to environmental changes - a dynamic capability. In this paper, we outline the two most important lines of discussion for practitioners in this area: dynamization of capabilities and dynamic capabilities.
