摘要
Unlike other countries, the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office is competent to act in a wide range of civil matters such as health, education, environment, and cultural heritage. The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Federal District (MPDFT in Portuguese) has a legally constituted organizational unit responsible for guaranteeing the rights of citizens called the District Attorney's Office for Citizens' Rights (PDDC in Portuguese). For better performance, the PDDC needs updated data and social indicators about the Federal District's reality, which are generally scattered, fragmented and often incomplete. Aware of the difficulty in obtaining, analyzing and interpreting local data, the PDDC has created the Social Map of the Federal District project, which proposes, through a digital tool, the presentation of indicators and official statistical data related to the themes of the Public Prosecutor's Office. So far, three modules have been developed: public budget, education and health. In this article, we describe the project, which has contributed to transparency, efficiency and improved public policy oversight in the Federal District.
