摘要
Methods of designing steel monosymmetric I-beams against lateral buckling are not well supported by research. Lateral-torsional buckling (LTB) may predominate the design strength predictions for laterally unsupported beams. The behaviour of monosymmetric I-beams is analyzed for shorter, intermediate, and longer spans with a height-to-width ratio greater than two (h/b > 2). Three regimes are significant in the inelastic buckling resistances of hot-rolled monosymmetric beams under moment gradient, depending on which flange yields first and the end moment ratio. The present manuscript carries out a parametric study using a validated and verified numerical model. The robust computational software ABAQUS is used for simulating a total of 300 elastic and inelastic beam models. The behavior of monosymmetric beam observed under moment gradient and non-linear interaction equation is proposed. Further, the resulted data is also compared with the Eurocode 3 1.1.
