Experimental investigation of laminar forced convection along flat tubes with longitudinal fins

摘要
The present work experimentally investigates laminar forced convection in staggered finned-flat tubes bank. The study is based on dimensionless downstream fins length, i.e. = 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1, and Reynolds number (Re) range from 223 to 1114. The study was conducted under dimensionless transverse pitch ( = 3.0), longitudinal pitch ( = 4.0), upstream fin length ( = 8), and fin angle (theta = 30 degrees). As the dimensionless downstream fins length increased from 0.4 to 1.0, the dimensionless heat transfer rate was improved up to 6.7%, the dimensionless pressure drop significantly increased up to 225%, and the thermal-hydraulic performance decreased up to 68.5%.
