Considerations regarding the toxicity of construction and building materials

摘要
Toxicity aspects have been a field outside the boundaries of the construction industry practitioners belonging to the realm of health professionals. And that helps to explain why architects, civil engineers and other professionals involved in the construction industry have so little knowledge about this area. However, since Covid-19 outbreak has brought a new focus to health issues then it is important that the professionals connected built environment also be more concerned with such health implications. Therefore, this paper briefly reviews indoor pollutants and also toxic materials used in the built environment in order to highlight the importance of its absence when designing a healthy built environment.
