摘要
Distribution transformers are subjected to varying load conditions throughout the day that can cause an increase in temperature leading to the degradation of the transformer insulation. Further, the increased presence of renewable energy resources and their intermittent nature worsen the thermal aging process. Hence condition monitoring of the distribution transformers is essential to ensure operation reliability and avoid early failure, especially in the context of smart grids. With the development of fluorescent sensors, online condition monitoring of transformer oil is now possible. In the present study, a fuzzy-based model is developed from fluorescent spectroscopic analysis (FSA) and daily load profile to evaluate the overall health condition of the distribution transformer. The result of the study showed that the developed model could be effective in monitoring the actual condition of the transformer and help to take remedial measures. In addition, the severity of oil degradation is verified through breakdown voltage measurements.
