A look in the literature through organizational innovation shows that many of the studies on the subject are based on the hypothesis that organizational innovation significantly influences the creation of competitive advantages in companies, institutions and organizations. The main objective of this article is to analyze the current concepts of organizational, based on the postulates of the OECD (2018), (Camison and Villar-Lopez, 2012; Torchia, Calabro, Gabaldonc and Bogac, 2018); Jia, Chen, Mei and Wu (2018); Fernandez (2018) among others. The research is an analytical and documentary, with a finite population, made up of books and scientific articles that are related to the subject of study, analyzed during the period 2007-2021. To collect the data, an observation guide was designed, and content analysis focused on the aspects of interest in the research was used to analyze the data. In it, a tour is made, fundamentally, of the current concepts of organizational innovation and its social and economic benefits, as well as the implication of administrative methods and the structures of the work teams that make up organizational innovation for the fulfillment of the objectives strategies in the business sector. The results allowed us to interpret that innovation from organizational practices, in addition to allowing the creation of new products and services, provides the company with sustainability, establishing competitive advantages in it, guaranteeing its survival in changing environments. These innovations facilitate the initiation and adoption of other innovative practices; allowing the reduction of administrative costs, improvements in internal practices and access to external knowledge.
