Competitiveness, development, and territorial inequality. The case of the Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina)

The province of Buenos Aires is the most important in Argentina in terms of population and economic development, but it also has high levels of inequality. The Territorial Competitiveness Index appears as an indicator that allows us to observe the development and growth capacities of the different Districts that make up the Province, and also as a methodological strategy to understand the factors that affect development and inequality. This work proposes an indicator of territorial competitiveness based on international experience, using a set of 63 quantitative variables.
