Satisfaction of patients with Family Medicine Clinic and its services at Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan

摘要
Objective: To assess patient satisfaction regarding the family medicine clinic and its services provided at Jinnah Sindh Medical University Karachi, Pakistan. Methodology: This cross-sectional study of 423 patients was done at the Family Medicine Clinic, Jinnah Sindh Medical University Karachi, Pakistan. We used General Practice Assessment Questionnaire (GPAQ) adopted by the Royal College of General Practitioners. Results: 51.30% of the patients were highly satisfied with the doctors and services offered in the family medicine clinic. Major areas in which patients were found to be highly satisfied were: well-equipped proper medical care facilities (73.28%) followed by hygienic condition of the clinic (70.68%), discussion on mental and health issues (51.30%), kindness and empathy shown by the doctor (51.06%), doctor's description of tests results (47.28%), sufficient time (39.00%), privacy (38.53%) and willingness to answer patient's questions (38.06%). Conclusion: Almost half of the patients were found to be satisfied with the doctors and services. Major areas in which patients were found to be highly satisfied were the provision of well-equipped proper medical care facilities followed by the hygienic condition of the clinic.
