摘要
This article offers a meticulous examination of the underlying incentives that led to the integration of women into the Brazilian Armed Forces. Employing content analysis and discourse analysis, the present study investigates a range of legal landmarks, legislative propositions, presidential communiqu & eacute;s, and parliamentary transcripts spanning the time spectrum from 1930 to 2020. In doing so, it constructs a historical panorama that elucidates the multifaceted and sometimes incongruous trajectory of the incorporation of military women into the fabric of the Brazilian military institution. The discerned results of this investigation conclude that a confluence of factors drove the inclusion of women in the military ranks. These factors include the need for a greater workforce, alignment with international conventions, and the projection of a modern symbol of the Armed Forces in the domestic environment-while gender parity remained a secondary objective.
