摘要
Supercapacitors are a promising solution to the depletion of fossil energy, due to their high-power density and long cycle life. 2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs) are promising potential as electrode materials for energy storage, owing to their distinct properties. This article discusses the importance of morphology, doping, defect engineering, and compositing in enhancing the performance of 2D TMDs in supercapacitor applications. It also discusses the challenges in synthesizing TMDs, the importance of controlling dopant homogeneity and location, the significance of morphology, and the use of density functional theory (DFT) to determine the electronic structure of TMDs. Finally, it provides a critical overview of research on TMDs nanomaterials for supercapacitor applications, including synthesis processes, benefits of ultrathin 2D nanomaterials, factors affecting capacitance performance, theoretical factors influencing supercapacitor performance, and problems and prospects in the field.
