摘要
The process of conquering the right to education is the result of organized movements that fought for everyone to have access to education, especially the children of the working class. The objective of the research was to understand the mechanisms of democratic management for the process of action of the local and school communities in the organization of the public school in the municipality of Jequi & aacute; da Praia, in the state of Alagoas. The methodological basis is characterized as qualitative in nature, and the case study as a research technique. The instruments used for data collection were the application of a questionnaire with nine school managers and an interview with a manager. The research results showed us that there are limitations in the action process of the local and school communities, which do not contribute to the implementation of the democratic school, considering that everyone in the educational space is responsible for the implementation of the public school; in the context of public education, school administrators play an important role in building democratic experiences and encouraging a culture of participation; contemporary educational policies are influenced by the political-neoliberal-managerial conception, with repercussions on the way the school is organized and on the conduction of propositions that reach it.
