Expediting the technology readiness level of CO2 electrolysis

摘要
Recently, in Nature, Xia, Yao, Wang, and co-workers reported a proton-exchange membrane-based electrolyzer that continuously reduces CO2 to formic acid for more than 5,200 h at a current density of 600 mA cm(-2) with a cell voltage of 2.2 V. This preview highlights the significance of this advancement in commercializing the CO2 electrolyzer and outlines the need for the next steps.
