摘要
The ASME and DNV criteria mainly assess large area defects on pressure pipelines. For small corrosion defects, the use of these approaches leads to unduly conservative results for the assessment of pipeline integrity. In the operation of piping systems, the most common cause of accidents is the synergy of multiple effects on the piping. This paper analyse the cases of small corrosion defects when additional bending acts together on a pressure pipeline. Through experimentally validated simulations, diagrams can be produced to assess the safety of pipeline operation: e.g. for nominal stress from internal pressure, corrosion defect size and length of the deflected pipeline, an increase in stress with increasing deflection size from the original pipeline centerline can be seen (c) 2022 The Authors.
