A tandem strategy for the synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles via manganese catalyzed C-S bond formation

摘要
The first manganese catalyzed tandem methodology for the synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles from 2-bromophenyl isothiocyanate and differently substituted amines has been demonstrated. This protocol employs environmentally benign, cost-effective and readily available MnCl 2 .4H 2 O as the catalyst under air. The present strategy exhibits wide substrate scope and affords differently substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles in moderate to good yields.
