摘要：
Bei Patienten, die auf einer Intensivstation (ITS) behandelt werden, stellt eine maschinelle Beatmung eine h & auml;ufige Ma ss nahme dar. Vor allem, wenn sie & uuml;ber l & auml;ngere Zeit erfolgt, ist das Verfahren jedoch seinerseits mit Komplikationen verbunden: So k & ouml;nnen sich eine beatmungsassoziierte Lungensch & auml;digung und eine Pneumonie entwickeln, und oftmals lassen sich Patienten nur schwer vom Beatmungsger & auml;t entw & ouml;hnen.
