摘要
Objective. To analyze the percentage trends of acute diar-rheal disease (ADD) and acute respiratory infections (ARI) and their associated factors in children under five years old in Mexico. Materials and methods. The ADD and ARI percentages were estimated in the two weeks prior to the interview, based on the Encuesta Nacional de Salud y Nutrici & oacute;n Continua 2021-2023 (Ensanut Continua 2021-2023), and com-pared with those reported in the Ensanut 2006, 2012 and 2018. There were identified, by multiple logistic regression, factors associated with ADD and ARI in 2021-2023. Results. Percentage of 7.8% of ADD and 21.3% of ARI were estimated in 2021-2023, lower than previous years. Presenting ADD was associated with being one or two years old vs. four years; residing in the North Pacific, Central Pacific, North Central, Mexico City, State of Mexico, South Pacific and Peninsula regions vs. Border; and that a woman is the head of the home. Presenting ARI was associated with households with a low level of well-being vs. high level; in the North Pacific, Border, North Central, South Pacific and Peninsula regions vs. the State of Mexico. Conclusions. It is recommended to strengthen the capacities of health authorities at different levels, with civil society, to prevent ADD and ARI, and ensure access to drinking water, with a gender perspective.
