摘要
Implant placement directly after tooth extraction is often associated with resorption of the surrounding tissue. The presented case report describes an immediate implant placement in the anterior maxilla with a high smile line. Buccal bone wall thickness and an extended apical bone defect were identified as the most critical factors. Nevertheless, to preserve the existing emergence profile and to influence the resorption characteristics of the bundle bone after extraction, an autologous healing abutment was used. The technique is described here in detail. Clinical data (bleeding on probing, probing depths, dental radiographs, and intraoral photographs) were collected over a 4 -year follow-up. Stable soft tissue conditions, peri-implant health, and a Pink Esthetic Score of 14 were reported throughout the period.
