摘要
Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) constitutes a group of rhizobacteria known for their ability to enhance plant growth and development, thereby playing a key role in alleviating abiotic stressors affecting plants. These microorganisms colonize the rhizosphere and deploy a diverse array of mechanisms to confer tolerance to various abiotic stresses. The utilization of PGPR as a bioinoculant stands out as an environmentally sustainable strategy to mitigate abiotic stress in plants. Consequently, the identification and exploration of highly efficient PGPR strain for application as bioinoculant is one of the thrust area to enhance crop production by ameliorating the impact of abiotic stress. This review meant to understand the ecology and diversity of PGPR, delineate the influence of abiotic stress on plant life, expound upon the response of PGPR to abiotic stress, mechanisms employed by PGPR to mitigate abiotic stress and highlight the significance of utilizing PGPR as bioinoculant to support plants in adapting to and surmounting abiotic stressors.
