摘要
Recent years have seen a surge in interest in green corrosion inhibitors made from natural resources. An evaluation of Piper nigrum and Nigella sativa (PNNS) extract as corrosion inhibitors against A335 P22 steel in simulated produced water (SPW) solution was conducted in this research. Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), and 1 H NMR were used to evaluate the functional groups of extract, and electrochemical measurements were carried out to evaluate the anti-corrosive behavior at room temperature. In all the electrochemical studies, the inhibitory effect of green extract increased as the dose was increase, but after an optimum concentration which was found to be 1000 ppm with maximum solubility in electrolyte, the increase in corrosion rate has been observed due to localized corrosion. With 1000 ppm inhibitor concentration approx. 86 % inhibition efficiency is recorded corresponding to a significant decrease in corrosion rate (from 7.68 mpy to 1.22 mpy). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis, and SEM surface analyses also supported the findings that adding extracted inhibitor can enhance the corrosion resistance of A335 P22 steel in SPW.
