Exploration of the structural rGO thin films and their optical characteristics for optoelectronic device applications

摘要
Plastic garbage has become a severe environmental issue that is gaining traction. For the remediation of this waste, various treatment technologies, such as degrading, recycling, and upcycling, have been developed, and transformation to value-added products has been intensively researched. Thus, the reduced graphene oxide has been produced cheaply with rapid time, which was driven from plastic waste water bottles (PET) at 800 oC. The current study exhibited the process of waste bottle plastic (PET) recycling into product graphene nanosheets as an optoelectronic application. XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and TEM have proven the structure and morphology of Graphene nanosheets. The optical constants of RGO thin films have been valued by the Kramers-Kronig relation as a function of film thickness. The rise in thickness allowed for a decrease in the transmittance. The energy gap decreased from 2.21 to 2.14. Notably, nonlinear susceptibilities and the nonlinear refractive index exhibit similar behavior. The computed values for chi(1) and chi(3) vary within the ranges of 0.75 to 1.95 and 1.1 x 10-11 esu to 2.5 x 10- 9 esu, correspondingly. Also, the nonlinear refractive index varies from 8.03 x 10-11 esu to 1.87 x 10- 8 esu. These obtained values for nonlinear optical parameters are notably higher compared to previously related data for other thin films. This strongly indicates the potential utility of these materials in nonlinear optical applications.
