摘要
The Betic ranges, with an area of less than 8% of the Iberian Peninsula, contain 45% of its flora. There are cases such as the Sierra Nevada range, which represents only 0.4% of the peninsular surface but contains 25% of its flora, reaching 30-40% endemism in the summits. With a multidisciplinary approach, we address the dimension of the biological diversity they host, the mechanisms and processes that originated and sustained it, and the threats affecting this biodiversity hotspot.
