Ⅰ.INTRODUCTIONThe searching for anticancer drugs has long been limited by the traditional approach,inwhich DNA is considered to be the sole target.Confined by this concept,though hundredsof cisplatin(cis-DDP)analogs were screened for anticancer complexes of low toxicity,no out-standing results were obtained.On the other hand,there is increasing evidence indicating thepresence of target molecules other than DNA in the cells.We have suggested a multiple tar-get model to interpret the metal-cell interactions.Based on this model,both thepharmacological and toxicological activities may be considered as the dual response of thecells toward the attacking metal ions.Actually,Pt(Ⅱ)compounds have been shown to bind
