Conceptual approach proposal for the investigation of new sports practices

A proposal is presented to consider a series of new sports practices, whose origin is linked to certain recent economic, social and cultural transformations. Recovering the contributions of other researchers, a historical tour was carried out in which the origin and future of the sporting phenomenon is addressed, observing the links between its characteristics and its context of emergence. Going through the transition to capitalism and the 1960s, we reach the era of globalization, a framework for the emergence of a series of novel sports practices, whose appearance appears linked to prosumption. It is argued that this can be a key concept for thinking about contemporary sport.
