With the continuous increase of the system complexity and intelligence of the unmanned surface vehicle, as well as the complexity of the working environment and other factors, the rate of equipment failure is increasing, and the failure cannot be repaired manually in time. Prognostics and health management (PHM) system of an unmanned surface vehicle emphasizes the early fault prediction based on state and intelligent reasoning of cross subsystem. In this paper, the architecture and key technologies of the PHM system for unmanned surface vehicle were studied, a top-level design scheme of the PHM system was proposed, both the PHM logic structure and method library were established, and the power system of the unmanned boat was analyzed. The PHM system can effectively reduce the probability of failure and improve the success rate of mission, which is of practical significance to improve the reliability and safety of unmanned surface vehicles. © 2020, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
