Corporate social responsibility and sustainability in Savings and Credit Cooperatives of Ecuador

The objective of this study is to carry out a diagnosis of corporate social responsibility and sustainability in the 15 de Abril Savings and Credit Cooperative, an Ecuadorian company in the financial sector. The procedure carried out was based on a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. In such a way that a bibliographic review was applied to theoretically substantiate the concepts of corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Likewise, the quantitative method was used through the use of a survey applied to the cooperative's employees, in addition to the combination of statistical techniques to establish the correlation between corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Therefore, the correlation was calculated using the Pearson coefficient and the level of significance using a bilateral test. From the analysis of the results of these tests, it was established that there is a high positive correlation between corporate social responsibility and sustainability, which means that this institution carries out activities for the benefit of its interest groups which are sustainable.
