摘要
This paper introduces the characteristics of earthquake disasters in the 2013 Urumqi MS5. 1 and the 2015 Pishan MS6. 5 earthquakes, which are directly beneath the cities. Based on the discussion on regional tectonic background, site conditions, seismic fortification level of buildings,we preliminarily analyzed the causes of earthquake disaster for buildings caused by the two earthquakes. Finally,we give some advice on earthquake resistance for residential buildings and earthquake damage prevention in Xinjiang.
