摘要
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common disease in aged men. The traditional transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) has been the best standard procedure in treating BPH for decades. However, the complication morbidity associated with TURP has remained relatively constant at 18%.1 Recently the photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) with a high powered potassium-titanyl-phosphate (KTP) laser is a rapidly emerging technique and an attractive alternative for the management of obstructive BPH.2 Early and limited clinical results of PVP have demonstrated minimally invasive techniques and equivalent efficacy and greater safety in comparison with those of TURP.3 We evaluated our early clinical experience with PVP in the treatment of Chinese BPH.FU Wei-jun, HONG Bao-fa, YANG Yong, CAI Wei, GAO Jiang-ping, WANG Chun-yang and WANG Xiao-xiong
