摘要
Ruptures of the patellar tendon are rare injuries requiring acute repair to reestablish knee extensor continuity. Such ruptures occur either after direct high-energy trauma without degenerative alterations of the tendon or spontaneously after minor trauma due to degenerative tendinopathy. The epidemiology and therapeutic procedures involving 22 patients with 23 ruptures of the patellar tendon (operated from 1995 to 2004) are analysed and the relevant literature is reviewed.
