摘要
Comparative viable-count and K+-release experiments were designed to establish more definitively the mechanism by which antifungal imidazoles rapidly kill yeast cells of Candida albicans. The drugs selected for study included miconazole, sulconazole, econazole, bifonazole, clotrimazole, and ketoconazole. Results supported the existing hypothesis that the rapid and pronounced lethal activity characteristic of some, but not all, imidazoles is caused by direct physicochemical cell membrane damage.
