摘要
A wide range of parameters affect the extent of volatile organic compound (VOC) stripping from municipal and industrial sewers. These parameters can generally be classified as VOC physicochemical properties, wastewater fluid properties, wastewater flow conditions, and sewer gas now conditions. However, because of the continuous spectrum of possible parameter combinations, previous studies related to VOC emissions from sewers have been based on highly simplifying assumptions that represent only a small subset of parameter values. A computational model was used to simulate greater than 2.5 million parameter combinations. A frequency array approach was used to facilitate a semiquantitative assessment of parameter combinations that lead to high VOC stripping efficiencies. Results were interpreted in terms of their practical significance with respect to industrial discharge control and VOC emissions reduction.
