A PRELIMINARY-STUDY ON THE GROUP-DYNAMICS OF THE CLEANROOM SYSTEM-DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

This research initiates a preliminary study on the group dynamics associated with the Cleanroom System Development Process (CSDP). CSDP has received widespread attention because of its reported success in producing high-quality systems. One of the significant distinctions of CSDP from other system development methods is that it is based on formal concepts that are implemented through an innovative group process. This initial study examines input, process, and outcome variables that may have an impact on the effectiveness of CSDP. These variables are categorized in a CSDP Group Process model and are examined in the context of a case study using students in a controlled systems development environment.
